Why You Should Always Show Respect

For writing today we are required to persuade you the reader why you should always show respect around you. Since we have been looking at respect and persuasive writing this term we were told to write a piece of persuasive writing.

Respect is a good thing to show, it tells people what kind of person you are, like whether your mean or kind. It can be as simple as holding the door open for somebody or saying please and thank you. You can show respect in many different ways and some times you can do it without realizing it. Respect can come in multiple forms like respect to the environment, self respect and respect for others and their belonging. Putting up your hand in class shows respect to you teacher, when don't do this you might call out or talking when they are talking.

For kete we were required to make a DLO about having a pet, here is my DLO:

 

Persuasive Letter Writing

For writing this week we were required to write a persuasive letter too persuade our reader why we should/shouldn't have fitness. My reader was intended to be Mrs Shehata the year 8 dean, so I wrote a letter to her this is my letter:

Dear Mrs Shehata,

I am Thomas and I am writing to inform you that I think that fitness is a great thing to have, although I do think it is a bit harsh and it is a bit boring. It may be fun to some people but not all. Some people find it boring and not all that fun so they don’t contribute. I was thinking that if it were more fun people would want to do it properly rather than faking participation. It is good for you to exercise but just because it is good for your body doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.

Since fitness is good for me I don’t usually complain but I too find it a bit boring and I see a lot of cheaters. Especially boys since some boys are more immature than others. Some people always overtake or don’t do it and hide behind the group, this is a problem because it is unfair on everyone else who is doing what their supposed to. This problem is enlarged by the fact that they only occasionally get punished and get away easily with what they want. This is an ongoing problem and it gets worse every week with more and more people do the wrong thing.

The Paperboy

Vincent Vawter wrote a book called the paperboy which was published in 2013. He based the book off his childhood when he took over a paper run for a month. I think he may have written it to tell people about having a stutter and the in capability to talk. I think he shared it for the exact some reason, to teach people about having a stutter. If I were able to ask him some questions I would ask him these questions:

1. Why did start writing this book?
2. When you wrote this book did you do lots of planning beforehand?

The Anonymouse Instagramer

Today for cyber smart we were required to read an article about an anonymous instagramer who posted kind stuff to combat the bad stuff. He did a lot of posts about members from his school and he noticed a significant change in his school. He did it for almost a year and eventually revealing himself to everyone his account was @thebenevolentone3.

She saw it coming from round the corner, the enchanted teddy bear on roller skates that flip kicks anyone it sees. Her heart was beating, she had had several run ins with the bear and every time ending in her getting knocked out. She heard it do a practice flip kick that's when she knew it had seen her. she was starting to panic she couldn't out run it, she couldn't hurt it all she could do was get hit in the face. The bear rounded the corner and she was gone, she then fell from the roof and crushed the bear. She had completely forgotten about her water manipulation abilities that allowed her to use water to attack things and move around.                       The End

My First Impressions Of Paperboy

In class for reading we are doing novel studies on various books my group has been reading a book called Paperboy. My first impressions from the Paperboy after reading the front and the back I thought a boy who delivered paper would help a bully not be a bully. Then after reading this far in I am getting another idea. I am really enjoying doing this novel study, it is fun.
