our community fundraiser

Over the course of June 26 (today) The class of J6 were holding a bake sale for the past week they had been planning and preparing. They started out with an idea to help the community then they decided to do a fundraiser for the 24/7 youth workers. The 24/7 youth workers are helping out family's who can't pay for their own food. They then made food to sell at the bake sale they had decided to hold they raised $140 and will give them to the 24/7 youth workers soon.

Explanation writing about frogs

How And Why Frogs Croak
When frogs croak they can make quite a ruckus and they can even get really annoying. That’s why I will tell you how they croak, why they croak and even how to make them go away.

First I will tell you how frogs croak, even though they make a few other sounds I am only talking about croaking Frogs. Frogs croak By pushing air from their lungs into an air sack below the mouth and then through their lyrax which vibrates their vocal chords creating the sound. Now you know how they croak I will now tell you why they croak. Frogs croak for one of two reasons, to attract mates or to mark their territory. Now you know how and why they croak I will tell you a little bit about frogs.

Since croaking frogs are annoying I will tell you how to make them go away. To make frogs go away all you have to do is mix up a concentrated salt water. Once you have the salt water pour it into a spray bottle and spray it everywhere. The salt water will make their feet uncomfortable and they will eventually leave. But frogs don't only croak, like I stated earlier frog make a few other sounds instead of croaking. Some of these things are chirping, saying ribbet, peeping, clucking, barking, grunting and whistling. All of these sounds are different and can mean different things.

Now you know so much about frogs I will tell you about their lifestyle and how it affects ours. Like I stated earlier frogs croak to mark their territory or to attract a mate this is why they croak so much. Frogs need water to breed so you can find them near most water sources (except for Antarctica). They need this water to repopulate and make tadpoles. Tadpoles live in water and after some time the tadpoles change into frogs, this means more croaking.

Thank you for reading my explanation writing about frogs croaking, their lifestyle and how to make them go away.

Science colour test

Today in science we had to guess the colour of a lollie without looking at it. Me and David used our sense of smell instead of our eye sight. First off all one of us picked a random lollie for the other person to sniff while they had their eyes closed. Then the person with their eyes closed guessed the flavor by the smell. After that the person tasted it and then they wrote down their guess and the right answer. then the process repeated itself over and over.

Lino cuts

For my lino cut I decided to do a picture about one of my hobbies which is coming up with fakemon (fakemon are fan made Pokémon). since I really like swooshes with larger corner bits I decided to add two of them in my design. my inspiration was some of the fakemon I have created so you could see some of them. This design has had three different designs each one with different fakemon it wasn't hard to make any of them. My design is supposed to tell the viewer how much I like art and designing fakemon. I am enjoying creating this piece because I enjoy drawing and doing art and am happy to do it anytime. Even if I enjoy art I don't think I am very good at it and I don't like showing off my drawings. for the whole time I have been doing art I have been learning new things about drawing, painting and lino cuts.
