Adrenalin Forest

On Thursday for the final day of EOTC week, the year 8's went to Adrenalin Forest. We split into two groups, one went for a wetlands walk while the other went to Adrenalin Forest. I was in the group that went for the wetlands walk first. At the end of the walk there was a bird watching hut, after everybody had been in the hut we headed back the way we came and went to Spencer Park. When there we played on the playgrounds until it was time to go to Adrenalin Forest. Once we got there someone showed us how to put on our harness and how to use it. After he was done we went off and did our own thing. I started with pathway 2 and went on to pathway 3 then it was lunch time. After lunch my nose started bleeding and once it stopped I went on 3b.

My Favorite Memory From Year 8

Today we have to write a blog post about our favorite memory from year 8, we have to write it in twenty minutes so I should get started. So here it is:

The best memory from year 8 was the creation of the new library and learning street. It is the best memory because after it was made you could go on your computer a lot more than before. Also you can do it without going in the now demolished science lab to do it. Plus there are more comfortable seats to sit on and you can also go in the rooms. That is why the creation of the new library and learning street is the best memory from year.

EOTC Week - 3

This time for EOTC week I am doing a task where I have to plan a trip for my family to Spencer park for only $50. Here's what I would do:

I would go to Couplands and spend $30 on lunch food for our picnic and bring some liquid refreshments from home. We would also bring the dog so we can give it exercise her, we will start our trip by going with Hillary down the Waimakariri trail and back. After that we will eat our picnic lunch before going on the Brooklands lagoon track and then home so Hillary can rest.

The Perspective of the dog

Today for writing we have to write either the perspective of the dog or the girl from the music video happier in first person. I have chosen to do the perspective of the dog. So here it is:

I'm being carried through the air but I don't know why, I think I'm being carried somewhere to someone. I thought as I was held above the ground, at that moment I saw I was being carried towards a human girl. Oh boy am I gonna get to play with her.... whats that in her hand is it for me maybe just maybe. I realized that it was small bow and then it hit me it is for me I'm going to play with and get gifts from this human girl. Then it stuck to me and wouldn't get off but I was still glad this human girl was going to play with me.

This was a great task and the music video was also great, except for the sad bit at the end. I liked the task because if you do the dog you get to write down what you think it would be thinking. Leave a comment on what you thought of my writing.

Narrative writing problem continued

On the 30th of October I uploaded a post about the start of the problem to a narrative I've been writing. I have continued and added more to the problem. So here is the continuation:

On the way to the address she almost plummeted multiple times, to calm herself down she muttered nursery rhymes.

When she landed in the city, she thought it looked really pretty. There were massive buildings that reached up high, higher than she would ever fly. As Mimi was walking round the place, she saw a very familiar face.

cybersmart

For cybersmart we are required to make blog posts about stuff. This one is about some information on a country we searched up answers to the questions. So here it is:

The name of the capital city is Tokyo.

The the population of Tokyo is 38,305,000.

In January the weather in Tokyo is usually temp 7 and approx 60 mm of rain.

Tokyo is located in the middle island of Japan called Honshu.

The language most commonly spoken in Tokyo is Japanese.


Two Facts:
The climate in Japan is mostly temperate, however, it does vary from north to south with colder
temperatures found in the north.

Japan sits along the “Pacific Ring of Fire”, so has many volcanoes and experiences many earthquakes. 
In 2011, an earthquake of magnitude 9.0 hit Japan and created a tsunami which resulted in much 
devastation.


Why I Would Like To Visit:
I would like to visit Japan🗾 because it sounds cool and I like Japanese.

EOTC Week 2

On our way to our year 8 EOTC week we are doing tasks based on the places were going. The first task I did was design a raft, this is the second task. In this task I have to write what part of the EOTC week I'm most looking forward to. Here it is:


problem solving (Sample Space)

For maths we have been doing sample spaces, a sample space is a list of possible outcomes. For a final question we had to explain a answer to a question on our blog. Here is the question:


And here is the explained answer:

The answer is no because it would not be fair because the sample space for two six sided dice is
{1-1,1-2,1-3,1-4,1-5,1-6,2-2,2-3,2-4,2-5,2-6,3-3,3-4,3-5,3-6,4-4,4-5,4-6,5-5,5-6,6-6}
and a 12 sided die is
{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12}.

If you don't understand that here is it simplified:
It is not fair because you can't role a one and it is harder to role doubles and there are more combinations for seven than any other number. Where as on a 12 sided die there is a fair chance of it landing on any number.
