Contractions/Implosions

In Science we have been doing an experiment involving making a can crush itself.

Aim: To observe contractions in gases.

Hypothesis: The can will IMPLODE!

Equipment: Bunsen burner, Scissor tongs, Ice cream container, Used soda can, Gauze mat.

Method:

  1. Set up your bunsen burner
  2. pour apox 50-60 ml of water into the can. it should be no more than 1/4 full.
  3. heat the can of water until steam is escaping from the top.
  4. carefully grip the can with the tongs. be sure to have a strong grip on it before lifting it off.
  5. Quickly but very carefully invert the can as you plunge it into the container of cold water.

Playing With Tiny Robots

In DTE this term we have been playing with Sphero, Sphero is a round robot that is programmable. You can play games with Sphero like catch and guessing games (don't ask =__=).

Our task was to the four blocks activities on this site https://edu.sphero.com/cwists/category. After that we were set the task to create our own activities. I created a game where the is not to throw Sphero too hard or else Sphero will 'Cut The Cheese' (like I said don't ask =__=).

Here is the code for the game:

(something will appear here soon)

This topic was really un eventful.

Coraline - What I remember

In English we are doing film study, the film we are doing is called Coraline.

It starts off with Coraline moving to a new house called 'The Pink Palace'. After she arrives she goes into the garden and grabs a stick off a bush to use as a dowsing rod. she follows the dowsing rod trying to find a well, when she reaches the well we first meet a character named Wyborn. Wyborn scares Coraline when he enters because he rode down from up above her wearing a strange mask. Wyborn points out the well Coraline was looking for and points out that the dowsing rod Coraline was using was made out of poison oak. Then it starts to rain, and that was the first five minutes of the movie. (that's not all I remember but oh well)
