water bottle rocket

In science we have been making bottle rockets powered by water and compressed air. It was really fun we got into groups of two or three, I was in a group of three with David and Lucy. I was the engineer and the rocket scientist so I pretty much did everything. I designed the fins and David cut them out, I then made a logo. Lucy made a nose cone which I tuned up so it was good for the rocket. I then attached the wings.

We launched the rocket by using a wooden launch pad and an air pump with a cork on the end. We added some water and pumped the pump to launch our rocket high into the sky.

When we launched it the first time it only went a short distance until it crashed into the ground. The second time it only went a little bit further before it crashed. On the third and final time it went the really far and ended up going farther than any other rocket. I was really happy at how far it had gone and I suggest you try it too.

  1. Wow Thomas! I am very impressed with this piece of writing. This is one of the longest blog posts I've seen you make and it was interesting, expressive and nice to read all the way through.

Why do you think this is? Is this a topic that you enjoyed writing about?

Overall, great job on your science work!
