Nightmare Adventure

Here is a scary story I wrote for english.

Life’s all happy and fun when you’re a young kid just recently into primary school unless you go
through a cursed adventure full of all the things you’re afraid of. This was the case for Ember who
was only in her second week since starting school. She dresses in warm clothes with pockets that
could house her favorite teddie. It started after a regular day of school, the rain was pouring and her
brother hadn’t arrived to walk her home. She had an umbrella, of course, since the weather report
said there would be rain. She was getting cold and thought she should start walking home, all but one
teacher had gone home and she didn’t want to bother him. When she left the gate the rain started
getting heavier, she put up her hand like she had seen brother do. As the rain hit her hand she
yanked it back, the rain was as hard as hail. Then she was knocked off her feet by a large scary dog
trailing a broken lead. This sent her straight to tears, she had seen this dog on past walk homes with
brother but never talked to it. She ran off leaving the dog confused, it didn’t usually scare people
away. She had dropped the umbrella when she ran away from the dog and it was still raining hard.
Cold and scared Ember ran for the nearest shelter from the rain, a small alley. Whoops bad choice,
as she rounded the corner she saw something that sent her adrenaline into overload. Just ahead of
her she could see two very violent looking men, one wielding a knife. She was afraid of knives and
sharp things after dropping one through her foot that time she got in the cutlery drawer. The men
were yelling at each other using all the swear words they knew. That’s when one of them thrust the
knife through the other’s chest. The dying man locked eyes with Ember, anger, fear and betrayal in
his eyes. This told the other man of her presence, she dashed behind a dumpster. She hoped
against hope she hadn’t been spotted, she didn't want to end up like the man. She was worried that
he would stick his face round the dumpster and stab her before she knew what was happening. That
didn’t happen but she was sure it would. The living man cautiously walked past knife still in hand. He
left the alley. Ember took this as a chance for her to run in the opposite direction, so she ran not
knowing where she was headed. She tripped and fell landing near another exit to the alley. A kind
looking old lady just so happened to be putting her trash out at the time and saw her fall. The lady
rushed to help, after what Ember had just been through she probably looked homeless. Carrying
Ember on her back she took her back to her house. Ember didn’t complain she was really tired and
fell asleep on the journey there. As her eyelids flicked open she was confused for a time not knowing
where she was. She soon remembered that an old lady had taken her home after seeing her fall over
in the alley. As Ember surveyed her surroundings, she could see shelves and shelves full of dolls.
There was a dim flickering lightbulb above where she was lying and a brighter light coming from
behind a curtain covered doorway. The curtain was drawn and the old lady came through, medical kit
in hand, “now let's take a look at that knee” she said in a soft, cooing voice. With all the adrenaline
from fear and exhaustion, she hadn’t even noticed her knee was raw and bleeding. The old lady
washed her bleeding knee and tied a bandage around it. Ember was grateful but the lights stopped
and Ember could no longer see the old lady. The lights came back only a few seconds later and all
the dolls were gone, the old lady too. The hands wrapped around her neck and Ember was thrust
into the air. The dolls were on the ceiling the old lady too, the old lady was missing her head though.
The dolls were covered in blood and some had knives, they were probably going to kill her. As a doll
thrust a knife towards her neck she woke up, it was just a bad dream. Ember was in a hospital bed,
her mother told her she had caught hypothermia and had been asleep for three days. Then she told
her mom of her NIGHTMARE ADVENTURE.

What am I learning?Creative writing, horror.
How does this work show my learning?I made a horror story, that's creative.
What am I wondering as a result of this learning?
If this story could be scarier.
