The W- start is when you start a sentence with a word beginning with w-.

Example W- words:

  • When
  • Where
  • Whereas
  • Whilst
  • While
Example sentences:
  • Why the boy fell off his bike, nobody knows.

Now for a paragraph with the W- start, the -ly start, the -ed start and a preposition start.

Whilst people were doing their work, Rykin talked like there was no tomorrow. Annoyed by his constant talking, people stuffed their ears full of cheese. Unfortunately he didn't shut up, so people threw cheese at him till he ran away. After he was gone, people could get their work done.

Example of a peel paragraph about Martha from the novel abomination:
Throughout the novel 'Abomination' Martha is bullied. An example of this is the incident with the girls throwing water into the stall soaking Martha. When she came out of the stall they punched her in the stomach and called her a slut. This made Martha feel angry and upset. Unsurprisingly this is a example of physical bullying by students toward Martha. There was a imbalance of power between Martha and her bullies because there was one of her and three of them. Another way Martha experiences suffering is at the hands of her parents and the Church of the Righteous.

Distillation Experiment

In Science we are doing an experiment involving boiling coke to see what is left behind.

Aim: Separate the solute from the solvent in stevia coke.

Hypothesis: That the coke will leave a strangely colored liquid and some crystals.

Equipment: Stevia coke, Conical flask, Heatproof mat, A delivery tube and bung, Bunsen burner, Tripod, Gauze mat, Retort stand, Boss head and clamp, Boiling tube.

Method:
  1. Set up equipment as shown in diagram.
  2. Add approximately 50 mL of coke to your conical flask.
  3. Light your bunsen burner. Open the air hole and gently push the bunsen burner under the tripod.
  4. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has evaporated. Turn off your Bunsen burner.

Results/Observations: The coke boiled very quickly and not a lot of crystals were left. The liquid was clear.

Conclusion: My hypothesis was completely wrong for the results were the opposite to my hypothesis.

Discussion: The liquid was clear and there weren't a lot of crystals because stevia coke is made up of mainly liquid ingredients.

Evaluation: My experiment was a success, I was able to separate the solute from the solvent in stevia coke (even if there wasn't much solute). If I did it again I would use a different type of coke.

The Excitement of Digital Technologies

In DTE / Digital Technologies I have been doing various activities involving different digital aspects including making DLO's, piktocharts & playing games about cyber safety.

The first activity I did was make an infographic about ergonomics, here is mine:

The second activity I did was play a game called interland, here is the description I put on my site:

The third and most recent activity I did was on doing activities from a site called Digital Bytes:
To understand the task click this LINK then look through the site starting by clicking 'Creator' then clicking 'Is a remixed idea an original idea?' then look at the video and the three questions my answer to one is below:

Link to video
What part of this video struck you the most? Why?
The sueing part! I don’t want to get sued.

Next click continue, scroll down and watch video B Then you can look at the questions my answers below:

Link to video
  1. If you had to sum up your initial reaction in one word after watching this video, what would it be?
    Why?
One word: What!!! I can’t believe you’ve done this Disney.😱
  1. Are you surprised that Disney has recycled parts of old animated films for newones? Why, or why not? Does it change your opinion about Disney's creativity?
I am extremely surprised because they use so many animators. Now I wonder why Disney needs 76 main
animators.😠😠😠😠😠😠😠
  1. How do you think they reused animated sequences like this? How do you think that process works? (Hint: Look up "rotoscoping" online.)
Rotoscoping, by tracing over motion picture footage so it can be used again.😏
  1. How do you think the animators for Snow White (1937) would feel if they knew animators for Robin Hood (1973) copied their work?
I don't think they would care because Disney is copy & pasting every where.😶
  1. Does the fact that these are traditional animations (drawn by hand versus animated on a computer) make you feel any differently about their being copied? Why, or why not?
Animating by computer is easier than if animated by hand. So do your own animating you lazy 76 animators.😤
  1. Some of the dogs from Lady and the Tramp are featured briefly in 101 Dalmatians. Do you think these cameos are a form of copying? Or is Disney simply referencing its characters and movies again for fun? Is there a difference?
No I do not think it is copying I think it is just a reference to the lady and the tramp. There is a difference between referencing and copying.😑

Then I did activity B which is this:

In my opinion this was a lot of work but really fun and so worth it.

Amber Color Poem

In the hole in the ground far below, a piece of gem doth show, on closer look Amber it doth be. The glittering amber glimmered in the sun. Amber is a bright colour, amber is the colour of sunset. Amber is a colour that I always want to see just like the sun that shines in the sky. Amber is my Favorite colour, Amber is like the sun. When I look at you I see the sun, I see the flaming burning amber within you as it burns and withers. Amber is a colour that shall be, it glistens and glows in a underneath a patch of cracked stone. Amber is the jewel of love, You can see amber on the night sky. When I stare at the amber skies as the sun set, I think of love.
